Reconnect your Instagram account

Renew Meta authorization, verify the account, and test safely after returning.

When to renew the connection

Check the live connection status in Settings. Renewal is needed when Meta invalidates authorization, permissions expire, or you need to grant a newly requested permission. Connecting Instagram is separate from entering the studio: a DMFLOW invitation or login does not replace Meta authorization.

Reconnect safely

  1. Open Settings and the Instagram connection section. Read the current status and account identity so that you reconnect the intended profile.
  2. Use the available connect or renew-permissions action. Complete the official Meta login (Unified Login / Facebook Login for Business). Share exactly one professional account and review permissions; sharing none or several accounts stops the connection. A Facebook Page is not required.
  3. Back in DMFLOW, verify the connection status again. A rejected or unfinished consent flow is not a successful reconnection.
  4. Reconnecting pauses rules and ends in-progress conversations. Review them, explicitly activate the intended rule and make one fresh test from another account. Check the result in history, rather than relying on the preview.

What reconnection does not do automatically

Renewed consent does not grant missing Meta app approval or turn on the server's live-sending permission. The deployment owner manages those requirements. It also does not automatically recover every event that was missed earlier.

Changing or disconnecting an account can cancel queued jobs so they cannot send under a different identity. Manually check old uncertain jobs instead of replaying them in bulk. Reconnecting does not extend messaging windows. Use Rewind only for eligible comments after reviewing its preview.

Do not put passwords or tokens in notes or support requests. DMFLOW redirects you to Meta; it does not ask for your Instagram password in the studio.

Token lifetime and optional insights

Settings describes tokens with no scheduled expiry instead of showing a misleading expiry date. Meta can still revoke them. Expiring tokens require reconnection; automatic renewal is not promised. Existing connections also need fresh authorization after the Unified Login migration.

Advanced insights default to off. After enabling them, reconnect using the separate configuration with instagram_manage_insights. If your administrator has not configured it, connecting with this option is unavailable. Turning insights off stops metric reads but does not revoke an existing Meta grant.
